Butlins \o/

Well, we’ve returned from another free week at butlins courtesy of Tesco vouchers. This time we went for the deal that includes all your meals as well. 4 nights accom and meals and enough entertainment to keep the kids occupied from 9am till midnight for nowt can’t be bad :-)

This time we went to the Minehead one - it’s somewhat larger than the Bognor one and is right on a really decent beach which was handy (although we only got chance to spend a couple of hours outside of the camp!). Entertainment was somewhat more varied than the Xmas breaks we have been on before. Less decent bands and more “action” shows. Jake loved the BMX and skateboard stunt show and was fascinated by the nuttersacrobats swinging around up in the air for the power rangers show. Kids loved it, and it gave us chance to let the kids go and entertain themselves somewhat which as good. Also, on the second day we bumped into Jakes best friend who was also staying there by coincidence so we didn’t see all that much of him from then on as they went and played.

We did however pass on the main star show of the week - Chico. Seems the main stage was packed to capacity (nearly 3000 people) all evening waiting for him to appear. We passed on that :) The “celebrity” singing contest was a little oversold as well. 3 of the UKs best known celebrities turned out to be some guy who used to be in the bill and had won some talent contest (Leon Lopez), Michelle Marsh (an ex glamour model who according to wikipedia is noted for her large, natural breasts) and another guy who also used to be in the bill and brookside (Paul Usher). Still forgetting that I’d never heard of any of them they were actually pretty good at singing :)

Only downside is I seem to have picked up bratgerms and come down with a cold to come back to work with :-(
