I’ve just cracked open the Xmas pud and the brandy cream so finally feel like it’s Christmas!

In an attempt to feel a bit more Christmassy I popped into town this afternoon. Ashford town centre was dead at 2:30pm. I wondered if I’d find a space when in fact there were probably less than 3 dozen cars in the car park. Very odd. Most of the shops had more staff than customers and I didn’t have to queue anywhere! Most shops also appeared to have rather a lot of Xmas stock left…maybe the news stories about this year being a bad retail year are true. Still, picked up a few bargains 
The only store that didn’t appear to be rather over stocked was Thorntons which appeared to have been raided. They had a few Xmas puds and hampers left but not a lot else (except 4 rather bored looking sales people with nothing left to sell)
Just as I’d finished (around 3:30) I thought I’d pop into Starbucks for a Gingerbread Latte to top of the day only to be told they were closing early due to lack of custom 
Oh well, all that’s left now is to try to stay awake until mich returns from midnight mass…
That’s why there are so many things left in the shops – everyone is getting chocolate this year!!
Looks like a plague of locusts has been through there.
