B-I-L is *still* at Maidstone. After is turned out that they had “forgotten to send papers to East Grinstead” he lost his bed so is having to wait again!
He has had a whizzy electric bed which means he can make it sit up etc at the push of a button. The other day they came along and told him he had to get out of it as they needed it for another patient. Seemed fair enough, he only has a dodgy finger afterall. They took the bed away and replaced it with a normal one. Except he wasn’t allowed to put the back up at all (Health and safety policy at Maidstone apparantly) so he was left with a bed that he had to lay on. Great. Today they managed to find him another electric bed so he at least can now sit up!
While he has been waiting he has had yet another op on his finger. This is what it looked like after the first - each op (4 now I think) has removed more and more :-/
Also, I couldn’t believe that they have no TVs or anything. My experiences of hospitals have all had at least a TV in the ward - and in Ashford you get a TV each (at a cost however…). Maidstone have no TVs. Not even a TV room. He has spent 2 weeks in a ward with a couple of elderly women (one of whom strips off and wanders about at night) and a couple of elderly blokes. To say he is born witless is an understatement. Still, he has found both ponds on the site and has now named all of the fish 
They promise a move to East Grinstead for monday now…time will tell

That’s just terrible. Maybe we should drop Merlin off so he can provide a floor show of trying to catch the fish.
