When we log a call with you, one of the first pieces of information that we *have* to give you is the output from the uname command. This is obviously an important piece of information – without it we can’t even get a call logged.
# uname -a
SunOS yaddayadda 5.9 Generic_118558-28 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210
the bit in bold show the architecture. Next time you send us a library as a hotfix for a bug could you please send us the sparc version and *not* the x86 version.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work all that well.
Also, could I suggest that maybe this is why your engineers are failing to manage to checksum your libs against ours?
If you are wondering what this wierd sparc processor is then can I refer you to http://www.sun.com/processors/ ?
Darren (getting rather pissed off with this)
