On Phils and jgams recommendation last night we went to Won Kei for dinner. Excellent! As many of the reviews say, it is now somewhat politer than it used to be but the ground floor was still rather interesting.. Over the years I’ve been recommended this place loads of time but never actually got to go.
We entered to be instantly yelled at: “How many? How many?” followed almost instantly with “Sit there!”. We then dared to ask if we could go upstairs (where you get some tablecloths and the waiters are alledgedly more polite 
).
We skipped the “fried intestine” and the “fish head in bowl” and left ourselves at the mercy of the Won Kei waiters by going for the most expensive thing on the menu – the 12quid special meal.
Great food and easy to eat given I’d hidden the fork from the waiter so I didn’t have to use chopsticks 
. Chopsticks for noodles and sweet and sour chicken I can do – for seaweed and rice it just seems long winded.
Highly recommended – but take cash. “No cards or cheques. Give cash”
