We did try but I guess all those big expensive houses around Hythe were too much 
Still, Tory share of the vote pretty much stuck and the libdems making some progress (although how much as a result of antiwar protest votes as opposed to actual support?) is not too bad. Labour majority reduced to something more sensible should help keep some of their more radical plans on the back burner.
All in all, it could have been much worse…
