Is there an election coming up?
Seems that Jamie Oliver has stirred things up a little with his TV show Jamies School Dinners. Usually I find the mockney twat irritating but this series was actually interesting and he did appear to be actually shocked at the crap that is served up to kids at school. I’ve never tried a turkey twizzler (although perversely this series has made me want to try one but then I’m wierd like that :-)) but they really look quite manky to say the least and the fact that some of the dinnerladies who cook the food let alone the kids don’t know what to do with carrot was really rather scary.
The government claim that more infomation on how they will fund some of this improvement will be released over the next few weeks. We shall see. I suspect it will go from being a revamp of the entire school dinner system to being a few policies on only using lowerfat turkey twizzlers and a hope that it will be able to be strung out long enough to get Labour some votes and then quietly forgotten about. Personally I hope Jamie will go on pestering people in high places and that he will keep this in the press. I guess we will see what happens in the weeks to come…
Party at weekend went very well - all seemed to enjoy it. Farming worlds catering for 5 kids was interesting. Grub was pretty good but the 6 cakes per child was a little OTT :-). Still, we managed to help the kids eat them all
Sprog1’s last ever nursery easter egg hunt also seemed to go to plan this morning. The 30 mins of kids singing nursery ryhmes was a little much though (about 29 mins too much really :-)). Even the kids where getting bored in the end. I really don’t know how the staff cope with being so permanently cheerful with 30 kids under their feet all day but then I guess thats why I chose to work with computers instead…

This product contains just 34 per cent turkey. The rest is an unholy amalgam of pork fat, water, rusk, hydrogenated vegetable oil and more E’s than a weekend at Glastonbury.
Mmmm, sounds tasty

Excellent. Where do I buy them? Don’t pretend you wouldn’t try one
The Bernard Matthews website just gives me a picture a rather impressive house. Guess there’s cash to be made with twizzlers
