it’s been an odd week
Took a couple of days off this week. Of course, this causes sprogs to fall ill. Spent first half of week with sprog2 with a stomach bug and then sprog1 fall foul of it for the second half of the week.
Sprog2 was 4 on Wednesday. Party is tomorrow at Farming World so I hope he is well enough in the morning :-/ Should be good - just 5 kiddlings coming along so not too terrifying!
Back to work today to find that our new email and calendar system has once again taken on a life of its own. This email system is a hugely complex set that was specced to be as highly available as possible. Unfortunately, we were one of the first people in the world to roll it and it’s been up and down like a brides nighty recently. Still, we are making small steps forward 
Sun are hoping to come down and write up a case study on our deployment. I guess for all of our sakes we ought to get the bloody thing working first 
I notice that Sun now have a What People Are Saying About Java Enterprise System & Java Suites page. I wonder if we could get some of our quotes on there?
- “What the hell is it doing now?”

- “hrm. It’s never done that before”
- “You know, maybe Exchange wouldn’t have been quite that evil afterall”
Anyway, wish us luck for tomorrow. Two small kids just getting over a stomach upset, 4 of their friends and a farm. It’ll end in tears (probably mine).
