Well, I got to London ok. Meeting was ok – not as interesting as I had hoped (others have been a lot better) and it was a bit surreal sitting in a room at Sun getting a presentation on an Exchange plugin… Still, lunch was good (lack of honey sausages though
) and a couple of beers with Ben and Phil was good. The more I hear about Phils upcoming wedding the scarier it sounds. I think they have spent more on the Honeymoon that we spent on our entire wedding, reception and honeymoon
. Mid afternoon we made the call that the weather was not great so we ought to head home – mistake. Trains ran fine and no real problems
Should have stayed for more beer. Bummer.
Some progress on the missing pay saga. Still not actually got any cash but I now have a letter from personnel confirming that I will get paid. I guess that’s progress.
Time to leave the office I think. For some reason the entire building has had a smell of sewerage throughout all afternoon. Estates dept have looked and can’t find anything. Christine is worried that it is her as she had egg sarnies for lunch – I hope for her sake it isn’t as the smell is getting stronger and stronger. I’m always up for a pickled egg or two (especially when the yolk has gone black…mmmmmmm) but this is getting a little stomach churning. I don’t envy the first person in in the morning!
